What do Sanity Media and this fella have in common?
This is the Lorax. Of course he famously says he "speaks for the trees". I'm using him as a symbol of a presence you can imagine on your shoulder to advocate for something that is lacking enough advocacy in our politics and public discourse in the free world: competent stewardship. The wild places most people find priceless along with sensible long-term thinking in government institutions, corporations, media, and non-profits have this in common. If we don't remind ourselves to reward competence and long term thinking those wild places are going to decay, a lot, and free society along with them. Sanity Media is my first project to help this little guy out, because we have to start communicating with more rationality and less emotion if we are going to find ways to cooperate and advance human civilization in general.
P.S. Sanity Media is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Dr. Seuss Enterprises. The Lorax appears here as a symbolic cultural reference in a broader conversation about stewardship, public trust, and the information commons—not as Sanity Media branding or promotion.
